Our classic homestyle attention from the Sundown family makes you feel right at home. Located just outside of town, you get the freedom to chill out without the crowds, with any downtown action only a short walk, bus, or taxi ride away.

ACCOMODATIONS

The hostal offers 15 private rooms with bathroom, including a pair of two-bedroom suites, yet charges prices you could easily pay elsewhere for shared accomodation, or shared baths. Room interiors are finished in brick, with ceramic tile floors and wood and bamboo decor. Four rooms offer private balconies overlooking the beach, and 4 downstairs rooms have entrance patios facing the beachfront. Preference for the beachfront rooms are given to guests taking spanish courses, those who arrive in groups, or those staying for longer periods. Towels and linens are provided, as well as housekeeping.

     A central patio and garden provides a communal area for relaxing off the beach as well as indulging in refreshments. Outdoor bathrooms and showers are also available. Unlimited Wireless Internet is available for a low fee of $5 per week.

THE BEACH

beach view from balconies    The wide beach in front of the hostel is yours to enjoy, as well as several kilometers of uncluttered public beach, stretching out in both directions. Areas can be reserved for camping with communal bath facilities included. Hammocks are supplied at no charge for guests during the day, and driftwood is usually available along the beach for campfires at night. A beach volleyball area is also available. Surfboards can be rented at the hostal or in town.

KITCHEN AND COMMON AREAS

kitchen viewsunbatheThe communal cooking facilities include a large restaurant-sized kitchen with 2 stoves, ample storage and food preparation space. The outside BBQ area is also available for use. Our staff are helpful in orienting you to necessary stores and markets, and guests are free to join the managers in their weekly trips to the San Vicente market. All guests are expected to keep the kitchen and BBQ areas clean after usage. Unlimited supply of purified bottled water for drinking and cooking is available for a $3 a week per person fee.

     The common room has a ping pong table, library, bar and dining area, and television. Playing cards and other games are available. The kitchen and common area normally close at 9:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, and at Midnight on Friday and Saturday. Extensions to these hours may be obtained occasionally with special permission from management.
